While wearing Onefit scleral lenses, the eye remains bathed in a layer of tears. Those tears serve as a barrier between the lens and the sensitive areas of your eye. The only part of the lens that touches your eye is the edge, and it very gently rests on the conjunctiva (the white part of your eye, which is a non-sensitive area).  This provides an exceptionally comfortable environment and fit.  In addition, the material from which the lens is made allows oxygen to consistently pass through to your eye. That is necessary for not only comfort, but is also important for the long-term health of your cornea.

 what is keratoconus? Keratoconus is a vision disorder that occurs when the normally round cornea (the front part of the eye) becomes thin and Irregular(cone) shape.
